Durbach, Germany (Vineyards)
For lunch, we drove to a beautiful winery, Schloss Straufenberg, at the top of a hill surrounded by vineyards. It was only a short distance from the castle we had discovered an hour before.

The weather was perfect,
the view was breathtaking,
and the company was so sweet.
As we sat there - eating a delicious leek, mushroom, and tomato pesto flatbread, chilled risling, and perhaps the very best sparkling water of our time in Europe, we realized that we were extremely close to the French border. We calculated how many hours in our day we had to spare and decided to take a quick detour into Strasburg, France! :)
