Savannah, Georgia

When Isaac asked me what I wanted for Christmas this year, my instant response was a vacation or get-away of some sort! We hadn't had a night or weekend away since we moved to Georgia last summer and I was craving some time away. Isaac planned a blissful and relaxing get-away in Savannah, one of my favorite towns. And it was over the weekend of his 30th birthday, so it worked out well as a time of celebration. :)

Our room - I was so excited about that bathtub. :)

The first night, we had dinner at Vics on the River  (https://www.vicsontheriver.com/) - the clams and linguini were fantastic!

This orange tree in someone's little courtyard caught my eye.

Savannah is so walkable! It is only a little over a mile from Forsyth Park to the Riverfront - with blocks of city gardens, delicious cafes, and shops between. It reminds me so much of our time in Europe - walking to everywhere and feeling like we know the city so well after such a short time because we are passing the same landmarks over and over.

The hotel we stayed at - The Mansion on Forsyth Park. It was lovely!

An elevator picture from our "fancy" dinner out at The Grey. (http://thegreyrestaurant.com/ ) We had watched the Chef's Table episode on Netflix about the Chef Mashama Bailey when we still lived in Peoria and commented that we'd love to visit her restaurant someday. So, when we decided on visiting Savannah we knew that was something on our list!

Brunch at Collin's Quarter - (https://www.thecollinsquarter.com/) We came here our first morning for brunch and loved it so much we were back the next morning :) This is the place we have talked about the most from our trip. The food, the drinks, the atmosphere, the service - all just wonderful.

Looking at these photos makes me long to be back in Savannah. :) I love vacationing with Isaac - our days were full of finding and savoring beauty, good food, and rich conversations. 💗
